a bit more colour and something new

Two new pieces.  The first - my girlfriend's daughter picking daisies - back to bright bold colours that make me happy.  This one could be headed off across the ocean as a gift for a grandmother - I hope they like it.

The second piece - 'fireworks in the city' is a first attempt at collage - it might be my last as well. I was inspired after my niece and nephew made a trip to NYC and were there for the 4th of July.    It was definitely the product and not the process in this case.  I am pleased with how it turned out - but spent the entire time (10+ hours) wondering why I was doing it.  It certainly challenged my patience!

working with faces

I finished this one a couple of weeks ago.  Painted on very rough plywood.  I think I'll be exploring faces more and working with expression and likeness.
